Imagine my surprise when I came across this bridge on a hike through the woods. It is part of a quarry that closed at the end of the 18th century and the bridge arched over a canal that was used to carry the chalk away. A solitary feature of a forgotten era.
On a walk in Hevingham woods I came across a place that looked like a 1950’s car scrap yard. The details on the dated dashboard and the effects of the elements over the years give the feeling as if you have gone through a timewalk.
It begs the question, what was there first, the car or the trees? It provides a lovely surreal subject though and the play of the light breaking through the foliage adds to the contrast.
