Unloved, not cared for, just waiting for someone to see its potential. Doesn’t it just show its sadness?

3.2 Elm Hill Norwich

A little mirror on the medieval glory days of Norwich. Cared for flower baskets, shopfronts showing craftsmanship and…ooohh, those cobbles!

A sneaky picture through a cafe window in Magdalen Street Norwich, after closing time. An impression of emptiness with a cup and saucer lonely left on the table.

3.4 Balcony in Laurac France

The little outside space that this balcony provides has been turned into a precious personal wilderness by the owner. Chairs and open shutters giving the feeling that someone can appear at any moment.

3.5 Rue du la Porte'd Aude Carcasonne

This street is part of the massive fortress town of Carcasonne in the south of France. The streetlamp on the wall and the fact that you cannot see what is around the bend at the end seems to want to draw you in.

A monument like Ely cathedral can be shown in a variety of perspectives. Here I decided to take a snapshot of the south isle. Accentuating the repetitiveness in the floor, the columns and the vaults.

Sometimes less is more. The image accentuates the lovely Georgian facade with the play of light by the fading sun.

The street reflects the precious character of an old working class neighbourhood in modern times. No room for cars so make do with bicycles. Seating in front of the houses and well tended flower pots…the signs of a nice community spirit.

Taken from the heights of Caernarfon castle I did wonder if the neat rows of the boats are an expression of the civilised nature of their owners or a result of the natural flow of the tide.

A perfect compromise for a large backgarden in the village of Laurac in Laguedoc, France; this little balcony overhanging the river with wide views up and downstream.

3.10 Oude Gracht Utrecht Netherlands

Much like Amsterdam canals belong to the fabric of Utrecht town centre. The entries to the warehouses on the lower level stand as evidence of the thriving trade routes that they once used to be. Nowadays they are almost like parks where you can get away from the throng of the city centre
